One of the fleet of ex VIA RDC's bought by Industrial Railway Services in Moncton rests among friends next to the former CN diesel shop. The original plan was to remanufacture the cars for resale but few received any work. Sadly the company has since folded and all but a handful of the cars have been cut up for scrap.

  2. Thank you, it seems like the whole venture was doomed from the start. It’s a pity more of them couldn’t have been saved.

At one point IRSI was actively asking around for more to buy, including on some railfan forums, as it looked like the Toronto-Pearson airport “Blue 22″/”Airport Rail Link” would be using refurbished RDC’s to operate, and IRSI had the most sitting around anywhere to supply them. That fell through though…
