Different passenger power philosophies. While GO, strictly a passenger agency, purchases dedicated passenger locomotives with built-in HEP generators, Ontario Northland prefers to use their freight units in passenger service, combined with an auxiliary power unit to provide HEP to the passenger cars. This is reflected with a meet of two passenger trains: the Northlander with ONT 1801 heading to Union Station to load its morning passengers, passing by GO 521 off #804 heading outbound at Bathurst Street.
