Even on a dreary afternoon it is hard to bypass a mainline train with a GP35 leading. It appears once again one of the SD40s is out of service again, and veteran GP35 #2500 has been called to fill in. There has been a lot of talk lately about the future retirement of the trailing SD45T-2 "tunnel motor" but for now it seems to be one of the railroads most reliable locomotives. Goodrich-Exeter train 431 is seen here leaving Acton and about to cut through "Rock Cut" just west of town on its way back to Stratford.

    that tunnel motor has not been out ONCE this year, but the other two junkers? like 5 or more times. I think we know what actually should be retired…
