The operator at CP's Guelph Junction station stands at the ready, train order hoop in hand, to hoop up on orders to westbound CP #501 as it approaches the station during a snowstorm. This exemplifies the challenges operators had to deal with sometimes, passing on train orders in all types of weather in all seasons.

  1. Well said, and a great capture Bill.

  2. Great shot! What I’d give to have that station back again :(

  3. Fantastic image, Bill.

  4. Once the head end was by, the snow would fly around everywhere. Getting the tail end to catch the hoop was a minor miracle.

  5. I think the person in the picture is the late Norm Farmer. He became a dispatcher N.G.F or no good farmer

  6. Train Order Office Signal G U
