Another view of Canadian National's Northern 6167 getting refueled at Niagara Falls during the July 10th 1960 URCS fantrip, taking in all the action from a higher vantage point: crew members on her tender attend to her water needs, as CN crane 50018 dumps another clamshell load of coal into her tender from a hopper car positioned adjacent. Railfans and fantrip attendees around the shop grounds observe and photograph the action, amid first generation diesel units crowding the shop tracks.

  1. Gotta say Bill, this is a really excellent shot!

  2. WOW..awesome shot

  3. Wonderful image, Bill. Lots to see here.

  4. Interesting to see the general public gathered around 6167, in an age when steam has just been put to an end. The fascination with steam locomotives, the smells, the sounds, the motion – everything, is very much alive. In other locations, lines of operable steamers wait certain destruction. There is a definite juxtaposition in this paradox.

  5. Wow and as I see this I am within sight of what remains of this very yard. Nicely done.
