The climb up the Niagara Escarpment for the Goderich Exeter may not be as scenic as others but what it lacks in scenery it makes up for in sound. This location better know as Dolly Varden to locals has become a favourite spot of mine over the years and the GEXR usually puts on a good show here. This day the old "Tunnel Motors" was showing its age as it digs into the grade but it is still going strong. It's hard to know what the future holds for the GEXR here, with increased GO Tranits traffic on the horizon these trains may once again be pushed to running in the dark or relocated all together possibly running to London instead of Toronto. But for now the almost daily show continues, and it's one of the last spots in Ontario where solid sets of standard cab six axle EMDs still roam regularly.

  1. What an awesome picture Marcus. You can really feel the action.
The Fireman is really putting the coal to the old 3054. :-)
