The usual ho hum drive back from the cabin on the lake required a u turn today when I spotted this TTC subway car at the Coffee Time on the corner of HWY 28 and HWY 7. The friendly trucker gave his permission :)

  1. If you had passed this on the Hwy coming home you would’ve thought “ you don’t see this everyday”. But to have seen it at a truck stop and be able to pull in and take a picture, amazing.

  2. That is a bit early for a T1 to be facing retirement. Normally the TTC loves to drive them until they drop (with a few notable exceptions). But this is a great find.

  3. A source has told me that this unit has apparently been retired (surprising for a T1), and is heading to be converted into a work car.

  4. Didn’t seem to have any exterior damage at all. Truck had Quebec plates and was headed east.

  5. Is this one of the wrecked units? Or did it look wrecked to you? Or was it out on a “field trip” to “parts unknown”?
