It's definitely not everyday you get to shoot a freight rolling through the heart of city on the Oakville sub. But today just happened to be on of those days. With a trio of GMD geeps and 88 racks on the drawbar. CN 570 makes its way west along the Oakville Sub, as GO 918 rolls along heading east toward Union station, next stop exhibition station!

  1. Was 570 re-routed? I understood only locals ran on the Oakvile sub east of Oakville ay night.

  2. An excellent use of available light, nice work. If it was sunny this would have been a shadowy shot.

  3. That would have been me on that 570! Missing my job these days.
Brad,570 is a go anywhere train. They can order it to go almost anywhere. I have ran them to Belleville,London,Oshawa, Ft.Erie and other stations. 570 running down the Bala and across the Oakville subs is quite common, but yes it normally runs at night to avoid the GO rush. Great shot JA!!
