Caption: GEXR's newest arrival SD40-2 3403 began life as non Dash-2 Canadian Pacific #5516. Retirement would find it making a trip to Alstom in Montreal for a full rebuild into a SD40-2, including removal of its Canadian style steps in exchange for standard EMD steps. From there it went into the FURX lease fleet as number #3003, then eventually sold to GW where it was assigned to the Southern Ontario Railway. More motive power issues on the GEXR has found it relocated once again. Here we see 3403 leading Goderich - Exeter train 431 towards Stratford, just west of Acton. Just out of view in the background is a new GEXR customer having a spur being constructed, service should begin later this year.
