A four-car passenger train pauses a moment at the Dundas station in the winter of 1986. Steam for heating is provided by the steam generator unit and a leased CN GP40-2LW provides the power. In the mid-1980s, VIA leased CN GP40-2LWs and GP40 units to supplement its own aging fleet of 1950s cab units.
