Honestly it’s been a few years since I have traveled towards Port Hope. I am just not a fan of fighting traffic through Toronto. I used to head this way a lot years ago. Yesterday I decided it was time to make the trek and CN handed us few trains while CP handed us nothing while I was there. A far cry from years in the past but maybe just bad luck. I did however get my fill of VIA P42’s in “40 year paint”, and while some of my favourite locations this way have disappeared or gotten grown in, the shot at Newcastle is still my favourite no matter what the train is. Here we see VIA train 645 storming westbound around the curve at Newcastle. It was also nice catching up with a few Railfans yesterday here as well :)

  1. Very nice, Marcus. It ain’t what it used to be but still a decent location to shoot trains.
