RLHH 3049 and CN 5258 sun themselves on a humid afternoon before a heavy thunderstorm rolled through. CN 5258 was set off by CN 434 on Sunday evening after its rear draw bar broke when the train began pulling after working the yard. RLHH 3049 was set off Monday night by RLHH 595 after suffering an unknown ailment. Mechanics from their respective railroads attended to the locomotives on Tuesday, so hopefully both have been repaired and will soon return to service. There can't be too many opportunities to get two Canadian "safety cabs" belonging to two different railroads side by side. CN 5258 is one of two SD40-2Ws used as LNG test units and retains the flared radiators.

  1. And both still have real bells, complete marker lights, and great paint! Well done!
