Zebra stripes on the head end of a passenger train at Bayview Jct. in January 1968. The old free, black and gold painted passenger cars are just about all gone with the exception of one close to the tail end. I started off being a fan of the F7 but soon developed a much better liking for the Alco/MLW FA series of cab units. Here, CN 6780, an FPA-4 with an FPB-4 trailing, head up the Dundas Sub at MP 0.02 at Bayview Jct.

  1. Best looking passenger units that CN ever owned!

  2. Quite a few are in preservation, thank goodness. The old green/black/gold scheme was the ticket.

  3. Nice to see a mail & express car in the consist. RPO lines were disappearing rapidly in that time period!

  4. Dave, FPA4 vs FP9…no comparison!

  5. The FPA-4′s had much better lines for the 1961 scheme.
