I do not have the information at hand, but I think this Algoma Central wooden caboose was one of about 6 or 7 on the roster in 1975 for the AC. It was built in 1948, probably one of the last of the wooden series. This image was taken in the Hawk Jct yard, 43 years ago now. Probably scrapped. But you just never know with this kind of rolling stock, for AC 9520 went to Sault Ste Marie for use, on AC property, as a Tourist Information Centre for the city, and from there I have no idea what happened to it.

  1. Arnold, AC 9520 is not the last in that series of wood sheathed cabooses on the ACR. I snapped AC 9521 in November 1976 while working in Oba, ON. I’ll submit my photo for site approval.

  2. Appears to be an old Illinois Central coach in the back.
