Where is Sirdar? Its on the way to Boswell, of course!! Seriously it is a hamlet of a general store, a bar, and 3 houses and has been since I used to go thru that area in 1970s. There also was a good sized gravel pit. And a small CP yard, as seen here. Northward from this spot the railroad crossed the bottom of Kootenay Lake over to the west side and into Nelson. This small work local is facing south, ready to go back to Creston. The GP9 8823 became 1614 after a rebuild and was eventually retired March 2012 after nearly 55 years service. Not bad! These "baby geeps" have been a favourite of mine over the years.
