Early morning at Bayview Junction, east bound freight drifting off the Dundas sub. Just another plain jane SD-40, no dynamic brake and no ditch lights. American crane parked in the Helper spur and I did not get any pictures of it. Anybody recognize the auto parked on the left, can't recall if there were any other railfans there that day.

  1. Great photo, but the only things missing are the white flags!

  2. The white lights are on but flags would be great too. Ditch lights were not mandatory in 74

  3. CN 50373 (1st), Work Equipment number CN 801-06 is an American Hoist & Derrick model 840 DE, serial number J-3079, built in 1952 for Canadian National. It shipped from the factory in November of that year. It had a maximum lifting capacity of 40 tons. This crane was still showing as active in an April 22, 2015 inventory update. Three months after this photo was taken, the same crane was working out of Cobourg, ON with operator I.V. (Ira) Davy at the controls.
