CP M636 4708 rests at TH&B's Chatham Street shops, alongside longtime Hamilton resident TH&B SW9 55. Time was running out for TH&B's aging first-generation GMD motive power fleet at this time: parent CP would absorb the TH&B into its system in 1987. The TH&B's NW2 and SW9 switchers would be sold off, while the GP7 and GP9 fleet would be rebuilt as CP yard units in the 1680-series.
