Callout to any railfans in the Greater Sudbury area! I've recently relocated within the district and, while I'm very rarely out searching for trains, I'm trying to figure out some of the local operations better so I'll have better luck when I do go out. I feel like this city oozes potential and hasn't been covered too extensively yet (at least, not online). If there's anyone with current local knowledge or who lives in the area and wants to figure things out with my friend and I, please get in touch! Thanks :)

It's a sunny February Saturday and I've come into the city in search of some rail action with L. It wasn't the most successful day—both of us lack functional scanners at the moment—but considering that handicap, I'm satisfied with our sightings of old Cando and CN geeps presumably awaiting the scrap torch, a 10-hour-late Canadian and tanker train parked on the CN Sudbury Spur. This CP intermodal was a surprise; we were expecting a (north)westbound to come through Romford when the searchlights lit up clear for a (south)eastbound. Unfortunately the late afternoon lighting wasn't on our side for eastbound traffic, but the frosty tail-end remote offered redemption before we called it quits for the day.
