Shortly after working Stelco, the 0700 Yard Job headed over to MANA to lift one gon. The gates across Burlington Street were wreaking havoc on traffic all day, continuously going off whether or not a train was nearby. The crew member in the shot is trying to address the issue, without luck. Eventually, city police were called to block off the ground level road and keep cars to the overpass only. I managed to catch CP once here too, shown in this shot, but in hindsight I wish I had composed that image a bit better. I was still fairly new to this hobby and was largely focused on shooting the power instead of the scene. A few people I have spoken with had never seen SOR here previously or CN presently, so I don't think it's a move that is made very often, and was likely a nighttime move with SOR. Even being a local I managed three personal firsts on this day: CN at Stelco (link above), CN at MANA, and CN at P&H (shown here). Industrial Hamilton can be a fun place with a lot of interesting opportunities for shots.
