Its April in Northern Ontario and the only trace of spring is CN sending out work equipment to begin the summer maintenance program. Pulling out of Capreol on the now abandoned Alderdale Sub, train 524, operating as time table train 954, has a nice mix of power in the form of GP9 4527, H16-44 2203, GP9 4484, and RS-18 3719 and an even nicer consist which includes a steam powered pile driver. The pile driver will be set out at Field, Ontario to work on a bridge. The ore cars are heading to the mine at Skead.
