CNXE 2647 with the 2222 and 2244 at Drynoch on the CPR Thompson Sub at Shaw Springs, BC. The area was used in the 1880's by CPR as a work camp while building the railroad. The Shaw Springs Resort was homesteaded by William Shaw and his wife in the late twenties and in 1953 the Shaws requested the name Drynoch be changed to that of the resort but the request was rejected by the CPR and the Geographical Names Board. The Trans Canada Hwy runs parallel with this location and the Shaw Springs Restaurant and camp ground, closed for many years now, sits just across the highway from the Drynoch SNS.
