With an extra car in the driveway (we purchased a 4 door car with the arrival of our second child, and were in the process of selling our older car), I had access to wheels. Unfortunately, I could not get a drivers license on account of my vision. This is where Fred Clark came in. He, too came from a one vehicle family, and his wife needed to to get to her office. With the academic term at U of A closing, Fred had time for some fun. We took the car out to see what we could find. #579, running up the Cornodado Sub seemed like a good candidate to chase.
Here it is, just past St Paul Junction, now fully on the Coronado Sub, about to duck under Highway 15.
Back then, at 0800 hrs, the dispatchers would transmit a lineup for each subdivision.

  1. Great shot Steve! Other then a high voltage transmission line to the right and the downtown skyline being a little larger this shot location still looks the same today! (although the trees are larger too!)
