Probably, my favorite spot to train watch in Calgary, the east switch at Brickburn offered lots of possibilities for photos, with the semi-seclusion provided by the Bow River and the forested hill or the right. With this position, the city and river take a more prominent roll. In 1995, there were only a hand full of trains that carried containers exclusively. Higher priority cars were usually placed at the front of the train, presumably for quick access at the destination. Otherwise, there could be just about anything tacked onto the train to "fill it out".
The lead engine has entered the section of super elevated curvature. I am not sure why this existed. Even the "Canadian" came through here at a very modest speed.
