This is another area that I found by studying topo maps. The Camrose Sub winds down this valley from the town of Camrose to cross the Battle River Valley. My hopes were that I could obtain a view looking up this small valley from the south rim of the Battle River Valley. Trees and houses precluded that plan. I always wanted to explore this small valley for photo opportunities. I will manage to see the upper end but I was not able to really get to know the bottom area. There are several wooden trestles in this small valley.
Ferlow Junction, in the Battle River Valley is where a branch splits off the Camrose sub. The branch, whose name escapes me, went to Stettler and may have been spun off to a tourist line at this time. That branch may be seen at far right.
444 is the daily Edmonton to Calgary manifest train.

  1. Steve: The branch was the old CN Stettler sub, part of the old Canadian Northern line to Calgary via Drumheller. When CN took over, they built the line above to connect the Cnor route with the GTP route to Calgary out by the old Battle River trestle location.
