Its that time of year again, where winter photos look comfortable compared to the summer heat.

It's a busy morning in Brandon as two sets of GP38's are seen switching the west end of the yard. In the distance a westbound grain train pulls down the main towards the station for a crew change.

  1. A trio of multimarks, nice!

  2. beauty man

  3. Oh god.. you know what I thought when I saw these gp38′s in this scheme? *puke*. I hated how they all looked ratty, with the burn marks in the same spot. 3097 3105 were assigned to Galt for years and I was sick of them. I loved it when new paint arrived. Little did I know that multimark would be nearly eliminated, but the ‘varity show’ paint scheme era of CP (around this time) was nice to shoot.

  4. Thanks for the photograph Matt! I took a few pictures there in the 1960,s & your photograph does an excellent job of showing the site as it is today. Long gone are the yard office, the roundhouse, the water tower, and the sand towers along with a few other buildings. I can certainly see the locations where I used to take pictures! Great shot!
