Between Mayerthorpe and Rochfort Bridge, there is another trestle but it seemed to pale in comparison to this one - a least on the maps that we were using.
We must have had plenty of time, since it appears that the train dropped a couple tank cars from the head end in one of the two towns that it just passed through.
We obtained permission from the puzzled, but obliging owners of the land at the west end of the long curved trestle. Trees at right obscure at least 2/3 of the structure.
I believe that this trestle was lost to a big fire a few years ago. Google still shows a wooden structure. Either the satellite photo is old, or CN rebuilt it like for like.

  1. I’d be happy with a bridge like this.. let alone the other one you posted.. wow..

  2. I chose to shoot the elevators when in town, but did get the two large trestles to the east. This is such a great line to shoot.
