Wearing only its second paint scheme, the 3049 does not have the fresh look anymore like the 2007 photos I just perused of it on the CPR diesel roster website. Ex SOO 4424 is trailing. They are heading out with cars for customers west of Clover Bar yard.

  1. Just noticed the replaced the old mechanical bell with an e-bell behind the front trucks. I always liked the mechanical bells on the older engines.

  2. I agree with your comment. On the other hand, so many of the crossings are honking prohibited. Just in the last few weeks several more have become no honking. (Which is inconvenient, I still use honking as a tool to alert me to other movements in my area when out taking photos). So, it is important to have a good loud ringing bell when approaching grade crossings.
