Remarks: Train 204, the mainline freight from Port-aux-Basques (ferry terminal and yard on the southwest coast) to St. John's, approaches Goobies in a cloud of brake shoe smoke (there were no dynamic brakes in Newfoundland). Note the agent looking out the window at the arriving train. Goobies was on CN's St. John's Subdivision, 20.9 miles east of Clarenville.

  2. Great to see some shots from Newfoundland!

  3. Joe – Great article in Railfan and Railroad’s June issue – the photography is excellent and love the anecdotes about the language used by the newfie railroaders. Highly recommend grabbing a copy for any viewers seeing this! Cheers.
