This westbound gtain train gave me little warning of its approach. The prevailing west winds probably had a lot to do with that. Those winds are probably the biggest downside of living in the Calgary area.
We have two of CP's "latest" EMD's  (plus an earlier version of the SD-40) pulling the train. Those SD-40-2F's are still 8 years old, and I believe are the last new EMD's that CP would purchase, until the SD-43/90 debacle.
