Friday June 4th 1976 was an interesting afternoon in Markham, Ontario. Apparently the 6060 was chartered for a wedding party, or so I was led to believe. Here is 6060 in the siding at Markham and is passed by the 6203 with the southbound equipment move after its Friday afternoon commuter run. It is interesting to note that the 6060 appears to be wearing one white flag and one green flag, something that I did not notice at the time. The train consisted of one CN baggage car and the UCRS private car.

  1. They both look white to me. However, the one on the port side is in shadow so that might be why you think it is green.

  2. Both flags have to be the same on the lead. I think they are both white but its the shadow. In the old days when a train (freight and passenger) was was in a siding and waiting to be passed by a superior train. Its marker should display 1 green and 1 red marker . Depending on what track the other train was passing on, the red marker was always to the side with no track and green to the side where the superior train passed.

  3. It most certainly was a wedding party.
I know the person whose wedding it was for, they were UCRS members.
Is this photo taken from the old Station Street that was severed for the GO Transit platform?
