  1. At left I was thinking it was Hamilton Stuart yard looking at the thumbnail. Perhaps the benches are leftover for resting or waiting railfans! ;)

  2. An sd40-2 in hamilton would light the fans’ and Snake on fire. Sarnia’s like a black hole.

  3. Nice shot steve, interesting to note that most switchers assigned to sarnia have RCL equipment but the 5273 does not

  5. If I was throwing all of those switches I’d want a place to sit once in a while.

  6. What’s interesting is for the longest time, Sarnia’s yard power was GP9′s with slugs.

    Now that the slugs are gone, they usually pair a RCLS unit with non RCLS. But it doesn’t mean RCLS will be in the lead position

  7. This unit left Sarnia about a week and a half ago. I went to Sarnia not long after I posted this on the site for Thanksgiving over October 5/6 and it was gone.

  8. Yes i’ve said this before, I always notice CN juggles around their motive power quite a lot whereas CP normally has the same three geeps/eco units on their jobs. The only constant is the CN RP9RM in Huntsville that always returns after maintenance as they apparently prefer to use it!

  9. This scene recalls many memories of kicking cars down the lead and watching them roll into their respective tracks. While the high and low switchmen are lining switches and tying down cars. You felt good after your days work. (Unlike the hump, pulling pins all shift, no thanks :-) ).
