I was trying to head back to Saskatoon after a long day of railfanning around Keppel, Biggar, and Oban, and kept running into more and more trains on the way back to the city. I know, poor me, right? For this particular train, I was eastbound on Highway 14 heading back to Saskatoon and the flashers near Grandora were going but all of the cars ahead of me were ignoring them or oblivious to them as they weren't even slowing down for them. I figured they must be malfunctioning and was thinking of calling them into CP. No sooner did I pull up to them did this train appear on the Cominco Spur, so for the fourth time on the way back to Saskatoon, the chase was on again. A road parallels the Cominco Spur for a good way and I followed them at a snail's pace as they headed southbound, including over the diamond with the CN Watrous Sub. They were headed for the nearby Nutrien mine, where they would be lifting a unit potash train to head west with later that night. I heard on the scanner they were going to be configured 3-1-1, meaning 8866, 3048 and 9731 would end up on the head end.
