Rob Smith's recent post of CN "CS-02" reminded me of this encounter with the same unit only a couple hundred feet from his shot. CN 1379 was renumbered to CS-02 then back to 1379 again. I believe it acquired the extra posts and chains while on lease to an industry after being renumbered the second time.

  1. Don’t know where I got 1272 from… that confirms it! Thanks Matt.

  2. I don’t want to sound like Wheel Of Fortune, but….there were two CS-02.
The first one was, like you correctly surmised, the 1272. It was renumbered on or after Oct1995. Then renumbered back upon resale to Canac.
The second was 1379, renumbered on or after Apr1999.
CS-02/1379 was leased to Eurocan, Kitimat BC, which must be where it got that ” fall protection “.

  3. Ah! thats interesting, thanks Bruce.
