GATX 2255 finishes 581's job in Brantford after bringing back three empty centre beam cars from Caledonia. Recently they have began running one engine on either end of the train, anyone know when they started doing this?

  1. Hey Carson,

They tend to run with an engine on either end when they don’t have a place to run around their train so that no crew member has to ride the shove back to Brantford. This has been the norm since they started having more than 1 unit in Brantford. Yesterday I think they only ran to Cainsville, as they did Hagersville/Caledonia Thursday.

It isn’t often that they do an engine on either end for a run to Caledonia or CGC Hagersville as they have room to run around their train at Hagersville. Cainsville is the typical either end move.

This would also be 580, 581 is the night job these days.
