Thompsons' critter rests quietly in Blenheim at their sprawling elevator complex, where they load grain to be shipped by rail on the south side, and ADM loads grain to be shipped by rail on the north. The unit is used to move cars around between the approximately weekly service from CN L514. It would appear that the GWWD units that took up residence in both Blenheim and Kent Bridge are now AWOL - does anyone know what become of them? I expect they may have been scrapped as I do not think either left by rail.

  1. 100 was still there in February…

  2. Yeah it’s really recent they have disappeared. At least since this photo for Blenheim (and maybe even at least since mid-April as I don’t think I saw it then either), and Kent Bridge even more recently than that (was there when this photo was taken, but since gone).

  3. On March 21 100 was sitting on the ground parallel to the white building behind this unit. So if it wasn’t there in May it was either trucked away or scrapped. 101 was still at Kent Bridge on that day.

  4. Interesting, thanks Rob.

  5. Are the windows on the other side or do they operate blind? ;) Nice shot as always James.

  6. It’s boarded up when not in use.
