TRAIN TIME AT THUNDER BAY - Approaching the halfway mark of their first transcontinental train trip that started in North Sydney some 32 years ago, the photographer and his girlfriend take the time to stretch their legs at Thunder Bay. VIA Rail F40PH # 6424 pauses with the rest of the consist of # 1 at the impressive Station in the town that was once known in the geography books as as Fort William. Having departed Ottawa the previous day, an early morning rise afforded them amazing views of Lake Superior from the Canadian Pacific tracks. It was also an indicator of the vastness of Canada, as it took nearly 24 hours of continuous travel to reach the Manitoba border later that day.
