CANADIAN CUT OFF - F40PH 6419 now leads the newly marshalled Canadian # 10 about to depart for Toronto at Sudbury on September 29, 1988 while the adjacent # 2 with FP9A 6502 heads for Montreal. From Winnipeg to Sudbury, the photographer and his Fiancée travelled on a quite lengthy # 2 but upon arrival at Sudbury, as was the practice at the time, the train was spit into two separate sets, with the Toronto section taking on a new number. Shortly after departure #10 would hold the southbound mainline near Coniston so that # 2 could back up to transfer a Toronto bound passenger who accidently boarded the Montreal portion.
