CP 3N08 is notched out as it climbs out of the valley at Craven Saskatchewan. UP front are 8510 and UP 5028, 9768 mid train, and manned helpers 6241, 6249 pushing hard on the rear. If you look closely you will see that this shot gets two thumbs up from the engr.

  1. Manned helpers certainly are interesting in this day and age. Is that regular for some trains on this line, or a one-off thing due to engine issues?

  2. mberry- It certainly is interesting in this day in age. It is pretty much a daily thing on this hill depending on traffic levels and train makeup. Sometimes they will nose on to the lead unit and add a few more driving axles to the head end and other times like in this case they push on the rear.
