OVERNIGHT ON THE OCEAN - Arriving at its terminus station, VIA Rail train # 14, the Ocean, is captured by the photographer under the grey skies of October 3, 1988. He and his fiancée had boarded the previous evening in Montreal and had just enjoyed a delicious breakfast courtesy of the dining car staff upon learn of their engagement in the Rockies on # 1.This would be the third last train of their nearly month long transcontinental rail journey. The # 12 Atlantic would arrive shortly and they would board for Truro where they would transfer to the 604 RDC to North Sydney and before nightfall, be on the MV Caribou for their native Newfoundland.
