Toronto Transit Commission PCC 4741 (one of the A13-class streetcars originally built by Pullman for Birmingham AL in 1947) pauses amid skyscrapers at the corner of King Street and York Street in downtown Toronto to pick up waiting passengers. A Toronto Telegram van is seen pulled over on the side delivering papers, a year before the paper folded (later resurrected as the Toronto Sun). On the right is the TD Tower, completed three years earlier in 1967. Directly behind the streetcar towering prominent is the art deco Bank of Commerce (CIBC) building, built 1929-1931 as the tallest building in Toronto at the time (and in the British Empire). CIBC's Commerce Court West tower is seen under construction between the two.
