Is the ‘M’ on the CMQ unit…the rebuild to do with the nose? It looks to me like it points down something like a GP20 nose. Nice catches.
The nose is original – I think. This unit was originally a GP35, and at least one phase of these had that slope on the nose.
I’m no expert on these rebuild designations, but I believe the “M” is either for “Modified” or “reManufactured” because the GP35 was upgraded to GP38 specs, and the -3 indicates an upgrade in the electronics.
If anyone has a correction or more detail I’d also be interested to hear.
