VIA 71 flies past the abandoned elevator at Prairie Siding. This is one of the only grain elevators of this style left in this area. I saw a photo by Bruce Mercer of an NS manifest passing this location in 1987 and I tried to recreate his frame here. Since then, the Chatham Sub has been single tracked in most places, the original Prairie Siding sign has been removed with a defect detector in its place, and the elevator is obviously no longer used. I'd like to submit this for the Time Machine. Here's the link to Bruce's photo

  1. Nicely done. This is a nice angle.

  2. Nicely played, Mike.

  3. Thanks guys!

  4. Nice shot, Mike. I love all these small communities and old relics along the Chatham and Windsor Subs.

  5. @jknott86 Yeah it’s my favourite part of this region. You can really tell how much the railways effected the development of the towns here.
