Caption: Every time I look at photos like this I rather kick myself for not finding the time to shoot more of them. And now that the GMD-1s are off the roster, it bothers me even more. This was a nice catch, CN 1905 and 1913, working in Thunder Bay, taken while I was on my way 'out west' in 1976. There no doubt was a lot more to see, but anyone driving across the country knows time is of the essence, and it would be easy to spend a whole day wandering Thunder Bay. So I moved on.
This view is looking west toward the hills of old Port Arthur.

That’s very cool! I believe TB was a bit of a haven for the GMD1s in this era. Also worth noting the long-gone bridge to the ore docks, if I have my bearing right. Not many circumstances where a bridge would have a grade like this one does, cool to see.

The above is a link to my caboose in the sky photo. There was mention that the structure the caboose stands on came from TB. The bridge here looks quite similar to the one in my photo. Perhaps this is where it came from?
I sure like the 1905 in the old noodle scheme.

And very easy indeed to spend many days wandering around Thunder Bay Arnold!
