In Taber, Alberta, 2/3 of the way between Medicine Hat and Lethbridge, the hotel in the distance in this shot survives, as the Palace Hotel at the corner of 47 Ave. and 53 St., and the CP main track remains, but the locomotive and depot and distant elevators have all gone off into history. Here, on Monday 1974-09-30, the daily westward wayfreight No. 83 with GP9 8700 has paused at the depot for switching instructions.
