Summer days, those long warm evenings where you could find sunshine closer to 2100... and I found the CNR Hamilton 1500 job with three matching 7000 series GP9's working the TH&B (CP) Adam's Yard in Hamilton. Dofasco is at right and where the Dofasco mainline once was stands a new fence. A recent visit I noted the rest of the Dofasco mainline is being ripped out around Ottawa St toward Depew. I hate November and December weather - take me back to these warm summer days!

  1. The white class lights are just loving the sun too (even on the 2nd unit).

  2. I don’t think the interchange is considered part of Adams Yard – it’s only accessible off the CN line.

  3. This was the 1600 as well – I was out earlier in the evening.

  4. Right. Thanks for clarifications.i wrote it tired. Wasn’t thinking :)

  5. All good. 1500 does do interchange pretty much daily and more often than the 1600, so it was a reasonable assumption haha. 1500 brings a fair bit of Bunge traffic (oils and crush) and I would imagine Vopak and/or Biox too but I don’t pay close enough attention to confirm that.

The 1600 often goes to the interchange on Eastport Days with, at minimum, TTL cars (I say at minimum because I don’t pay too close of attention to tanks so there could be others too). The night of this photo wasn’t a typical Eastport day, but they did go there which is why I bailed earlier on. The Eastport trip would explain their later appearance on the interchange though. Lately, a lot of cars to/from Triple M are being interchanged as well – with the 1600 bringing the cars from Triple M to CP. I find the interchanging of cars for customers on the joint track to be an interesting nuance.

  6. CP will be doing Triple M directly sometime in the New Year.
