Delayed by a derailment at Parry Sound and meets with subsequent freights, CP 40B rolls south through Vaughan crossing over the Humber River. Between the set of piers on the right, the Toronto Suburban Railway's Woodbridge Line ran along the banks of the Humber from 1914 through 1926. The old right of way can be seen in this 1956 aerial image.

    Nice spot. There’s actually three alignments that were present here: the current CPR MacTier Sub that crosses via the high bridge, the old TG&B mainline alignment that snaked through the valley and crossed around where this photo was taken (re-aligned by CP around 1907-ish I think), and the old TSR Woodbridge line that ran along the north side.

    Thanks guys. Dan, thanks for the info. I always figured the old alignment began just north of the bridge where the spur for downtown Woodbridge branched off. Didn’t realize the bridge area was also part of that realignment.

    Steve, they were apparently both running, but 1900 had the HEP so had to be closest to the train. 1401 lead 7019 and 1900 on the way back.
