Great photo. I always like seeing units that were originally built short high hood leading.
Thanks Terry, the 4602 and 04 were the only examples of high hood short nosed zebra out here in western Canada. The repainting of them was a sad event, but, on the other hand, these 2 look pretty good in CN paint. I love the oval cutouts on the apron above the fuel tank. A rarity on western CN GP9′s.
Another great Brundle photo. Classic 80′s railroading! Any chance you can read the running numbers on that Pettibone Speed Swing (CN 434-xx) and 4-man BKD trailing behind 4606?

The 434-xx, the first x is a 0, the second is tougher to make out and it looks like a 3 but it could be a 5. Potable water tank CN 80181 in black with the nice chimney stack. Cannot make out any other numbers

Thanks for your effort to procure the running numbers on the work equipment riding behind the power. I’m thinking that is a Pettibone model 441-C or D (circa 1985 build). It is sporting the optional 20′ squirt stick boom instead of the more standard tote hook attachment. The rather large chimney stack tells that water transport is equipped with a cold weather heater package to prevent freeze-up in the winter months. The white fleet unit appears to be a Treco or Gendall self contained unit with two 2-man bedrooms, a kitchen, eating area, and 3-piece washroom. It also has its own power generator sitting atop a large diesel fuel tank on the close end.
