CP 9-420 winds around the west leg of the West Toronto wye with a bright & shiny CP 7002 leading CP 8031 and CN 3143. This train was delayed for hours as it traversed the Mactier sub and by the time it got to West Toronto, CP's West Tower asked them to dump the train in Lambton instead of going east to Agincourt. The result is this, the rare use of the West wye leg in daylight. To top it off, a recent return from AMP meant CP 7002 looked brand new, sparkling in the midday sun.

  1. Nice catch. I believe the puropse of that leg of the wye was built for the CN transfer from MacMillan to Lambton. I recently caught it mid day at Lambton with a good assortment of 5 Engine power! However some times the transfer has to head East then back in into West Toronto. Good use of it on this day!

  2. The CN transfer always goes east & backs in. CP H22 uses it for local activities. A couple other trains here and there (CP 235 used it daily at one point) but almost always at night.
