National Steel Car 50 tonner #11, acquired new by NSC in 9/1954, suns itself on a quiet weekend afternoon. The 68 year old GE will soon be replaced by SW1001's from Korean National Railroad, acquired via locomotive dealer National Railway Equipment. NSC is right in my own backyard and I can count on one hand how many photos I have of NSC GE's. I'm interested to see what their new switchers look like.

    This was parked in the exact same spot tonight….!

    Also the 3 NREX engines were delivered earlier today to the NSC yard, they are buried.

    I’m very surprised that in this day and age there are still end steps/platforms installed for riding the locomotive. This is a recipe for disaster!
