The grain extra is rounding the curve that will lead to the little hamlet of Coronado. Back at those times, having a GP9 in a GMD-1 consist was unusual. Glad I made the effort to go and catch the occasion, couldn't believe what I found when I arrived at my photo spot.

    I snapped CN 1169 (ex-CN 1069) on a much warmer day 16+ years later on August 20, 2002 sitting in a deadline at ONR’s yard in North Bay, ON.

  3. The frost and snow on the trees just add to this great photo. The frost on the grab irons and radiator grill confirm the cold temperature.

  4. I’ll never grow old of seeing these in action. Plus they have their A-1-A trucks too.

    Long hoood forward too.. I have a photo to share in a few months on that note…
